Business environmental responsibility in the new millennium involves more than compliance with government regulations.  Leadership companies take a more comprehensive approach which integrates environmental responsibility as a business value at all levels of their operations.  Working with businesses and organizations in support of Wisconsin's Green Tier program, WEI will provide advice, feedback and counsel to assist efforts to improve competitiveness through the integration of resource efficiency and environmental management practices into business strategy and performance.

 What is “Business & Environment?”

With the emerging global concern for environmental responsibility, business is increasingly challenged to create new environmentally sustainable strategies.  Leading companies are deriving competitive advantage from proactive approaches to these challenges.  This goes beyond creating ‘green’ products for environmentally conscious consumers or designing new technological solutions to pollution problems.  It calls for a new way of doing business and a new way of thinking. 

Wisconsin Environmental Initiative’s (WEI) Business & Environment programs are designed to help Wisconsin businesses interested in implementing this new paradigm and “doing well (financially) by doing good (environmentally).”  WEI’s Business and Environment offerings show that with the right resources and mindset, our state’s environment and economy can prosper together.
